Wild Spin Update: Fixed Player Rotation

Wild Spin now rotates the giver in order — player 1, then player 2, then 3, cycling through everyone before starting again. Previously the giver was chosen randomly each spin, which could leave some players waiting several rounds while others went multiple times in a row. That's fixed.

What the old behaviour looked like

The original Wild Spin picked the giver randomly from all compatible players on every spin. With a group of four players, probability alone meant some players could go three or four times before others had their first turn. In practice this felt unfair — and for longer sessions it got frustrating.

What changed

The giver now rotates in the order players were added. Every player takes a turn before the cycle repeats. With five players, the order is always 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 — then 1 again.

The receiver is still chosen by the app from compatible players. But we added one extra constraint: the previous spin's giver cannot be chosen as the receiver immediately after their turn. So if Alex just performed, Alex won't be the target on the very next spin — as long as there are three or more players in the group.

The two-player case

With exactly two players, the actor/receiver restriction doesn't apply. The rotation still works, just alternating between both players each spin.

Compatibility and fallback

If the next player in sequence has no compatible receivers (due to "doesn't play with" settings), the app finds the next available player instead. The restricted player still takes their own turn as giver when their position comes around — they're never permanently skipped.

Why this matters: Wild Spin is at its best when everyone feels equally involved. Sequential rotation keeps the energy balanced and makes the game fairer for larger groups.
